Traverse one of the largest glacial basins outside the polar regions.
Snow Lake (Lukpe Lawo) is a legendary 16km-wide high-altitude ice basin located at 4,877m in the Central Karakoram. Martin Conway described it in 1892 as 'beyond the power of words to describe'. Trekkers rope up to cross the Biafo and Hispar glaciers, traversing a continuous 100km ice highway across Hispar Pass (5,151m) linking Baltistan to Hunza.
Preparations in Skardu and 4x4 jeep ride to Askole village.
